Ben Flajnik, who starred inThe Bachelor Season 16, announced he’s going to be a first-time father.

Ben Flajnik & Courtney Robertson Split in October 2012

Swooon magazine reported that Flajnik, who nearly won Ashley Hebert‘s heart in 2011’s The BacheloretteSeason 7, got engaged to Bachelor Season 16 contestant Courtney Robertson during the season finale, which aired in March 2012. However, the former couple revealed they split in October of the same year.

According to the publication, the pair shared a statement following their breakup, wherein they offered an explanation for their split.

“After meeting over a year ago, we have decided to end our romantic relationship. The ups and downs weighed heavily on us both and ultimately we started to grow apart because of the distance, time apart, and our need to focus on our respective careers,” read the statement.

They clarified that they still had respect for each other and wanted to remain friends.

Courtney Robertson Has 3 Children With Her Husband

People magazine reported that Robertson, who has been described as The Bachelor Season 16’s villain, has three children, Joaquin, 5, Paloma, 3, and Gabriel, 1, fathered by her husband, Humberto Preciado. In an August 2023 interview on Bachelor Nation’s Clickbait podcast, Robertson said she has received unkind comments about her time on The Bachelor and how she parents her children on social media.

She clarified that while she received “death threats” on her email while Season 16 was on the air, she thinks her situation would have been worse if her Bachelor episodes were premiering in 2023.

“I don’t know that I would have been able to handle the backlash because Instagram had just started when my season was airing. And I got it and I was like posting pictures of pancakes and coffee cups. And it wasn’t what it is now. But I just can’t believe the trolls,” said Robertson on the podcast episode.
