You’ve made your Solana bot “fast.” Optimized latency, spammed RPCs, maybe even tipped high. But trades still miss. Why? Because speed alone doesn’t cut it, Solana’s architecture has hidden traps that kill bots every day.
The main killers:
- Compute budget exhaustion → Each slot has a fixed CU limit. Once it’s full, no new txs get in, no matter how fast/tipped.
- Account locking → If another tx touches the same account, yours can get delayed or skipped.
- Leader lag → Sending through the wrong RPC/follower validator means your tx reaches the slot leader too late.
- Nonce/blockhash issues → Expiry or collisions silently drop your txs.
The fixes:
- Optimize compute usage (leaner code, zero-copy, efficient address lookups).
- Be slot- and leader-aware (know who’s producing blocks and route accordingly).
- Use durable nonces + smarter batching to avoid expiry/collisions.
- Track your failures
