Two of the most iconic British soap properties, iTV’s Coronation Street and Emmerdale have launched two new YouTube accounts to bring these franchise to modern audiences around the globe.
Coronation Street Rewind and Emmerdale Rewind posted on social media teasing the arrival of the classic soap operas to the global streaming platform.
One example came from the official Emmerdale X (Formerly Twitter) account which teased, “Missing your Emmerdale fix tonight? Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered! Head to YouTube, search for ‘Emmerdale Rewind’ and get the popcorn ready 🍿”

What Episodes of Emmerdale are available?
The official Emmerdale Rewind account began its uploads with episodes from December of 1993, with the iconic Emmerdale Plane Crash.
At time Phil Redmond CBE was brought in, off his successful run creating Brookside for competitor Channel4, and was given the opportunity to save the then struggling soap opera. His idea to do so was to have a plane crash into the farming village, and change the trajectory of the ‘Dales forever.
The stunt drew in over 18 million viewers upon its original broadcast, and transformed the soap opera from being known as a “quiet” rural soap into the high stakes character driven drama it is known for today.
The show appears to be posting episodes from this period going forward, with its most recent uploads coming from 1994.
What Episodes of Coronation Street Are Available?
The official Coronation Street Rewind account began posting episodes from July 1997 and the arrival of the Battersbys.
Originally teased as the neighbors from hell, the Battersbys came to town bringing a different perspective to the cobbles. Speaking of their creation, writer Sally Wainwright told The Guardian, “I felt the Street was getting too sanitized, It was the time of yuppies, so they put some yuppies in. And then they built the other side of the street and it just looked like Switzerland, all these white gables.”
Other iconic storylines airing at this time include Kevin’s (Kevin Fletcher) affair with Natalie,
Fiona’s complicated love triangle, and our Jack and Vera’s Ruby wedding engagement.
Episodes continue to be uploaded with the latest episodes coming from late September of 1997.
