Robert De Niro and Al Pacino Reunite for ‘Warmer Together’ Fashion Project

Hollywood actors Robert De Niro and Al Pacino have been longtime friends, with their close relationship evident in how they’ve acted together on screen over the years. Now, the two are showing off their friendship in their first-ever fashion campaign together for Moncler.

The fashion brand shared a look at the new campaign, titled “Warmer Together,” on Wednesday, Oct. 15, with the stylish photos showcasing their deep relationship and the brand’s comfortable clothing.

Remo Ruffini, chairman and CEO of Moncler, shared some insight into the campaign in an official press release, saying, “For decades, Moncler has been associated with winter and puffer jackets, but I have always felt that Moncler is about something deeper: love and a sense of togetherness.”

“Through their story of friendship, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro embody everything Moncler truly stands for: affection, warmth, and the belief that we are all better and warmer together,” he concluded.

De Niro and Pacino speak about connection and friendship in the campaign, with the former saying, “Warmth was never about the outside. It was always about what was happening on the inside.”

“Friendship is the greatest thing you can have. Friends, people whom you share the same world with. There is just an innate trust. And the understanding of life,” notes Pacino.

The special “Warmer Together” campaign starring De Niro and Pacino was shot in New York City by famed British photographer Platon, who has photographed icons like Robert Redford, Ozzy Osbourne, Adele and many more compelling subjects, both famous and not.

De Niro and Pacino’s Friendship Spans Decades

The two Oscar-winning actors first met in the late 1960s, shortly before their acting careers really took off in the ’70s. De Niro and Pacino first starred in the same film in The Godfather Part II, although they never shared a scene together.

They finally acted opposite each other in 1995’s Heat, directed by Michael Mann. The two then teamed up again for the often-forgotten 2008 movie Righteous Kill. Just over a decade later, De Niro and Pacino finally came together to make Martin Scorsese‘s critically-acclaimed film The Irishman, which stars other big names like Harvey Keitel and Joe Pesci as well.

In an interview with The Guardian at the time of The Irishman‘s release, Pacino opened up about his long friendship with De Niro, telling the publication, “We’re really close. We don’t see each other very much, but when we do, we found we shared certain things. In a way, I think we’ve helped each other throughout life.”
