Ever checked into an old hotel and felt… off? According to celebrity psychic JusstineK, that feeling might not be your imagination. “We’re all intuitive,” she says. “If you feel something that doesn’t seem normal to you, trust it—there’s a reason your body is sounding an alarm.” With 35 years of experience helping clients (including A-listers like the cast of Friends and Eva Longoria), Jusstine has investigated some of Hollywood’s most haunted hotels—including the infamous Sunset Marquis and Chateau Marmont. “They’re beautiful,” she admits, “but they’re full of energy. At night, those places just eat me up.” So how can you tell if your hotel is haunted—and what should you do if it is? Jusstine shares her psychic guide to reading the room.

The Energy in Every Room
According to Jusstine, every object and space holds the energy of those who’ve passed through it. “All objects absorb energy,” she explains. “Think about how many people have stayed in one hotel room. Their thoughts, emotions and experiences linger in that space.”
That doesn’t necessarily mean ghosts are stuck there—but the energy can still affect you. “If you’re feeling anxious, sad or just unsettled for no reason, you might be picking up on the emotions left behind by others,” she says. “Energy is real. Our thoughts are things.”
Her first rule of thumb? Don’t dismiss what you feel. “People will say, ‘It’s just my imagination.’ But how do you know that? If you feel it, it’s real.”
Signs Your Hotel Room Might Be Haunted
While not every flickering light is a spirit trying to say hello, Jusstine says intuition trumps evidence. “If something doesn’t feel like rainbows and butterflies, pay attention,” she says. “That’s your body warning you that the energy isn’t good.” Classic signs may include:
- Lights that flicker or electronics turning on and off
- Sudden temperature drops or heaviness in the air
- Unexplained feelings of sadness or unease
- Dreams that feel too vivid to ignore
Still, she emphasizes that awareness—not fear—is the goal. “This isn’t about doom or gloom,” she says. “It’s about recognizing energy so you can protect yourself and move through it.”

How to Spiritually Cleanse Your Hotel Room
Jusstine swears by a few unconventional rituals to clear a space. “Forget sage,” she says. “It just pisses spirits off. The true smell that clears energy is cinnamon.” Here’s her psychic-approved hotel cleanse:
- Visualize light: “Imagine a million suns filling the room, melting away anything that doesn’t belong.”
- Burn or spray cinnamon: “A candle or spray with real cinnamon helps shift the energy.”
- Take a shower: “If you feel off, imagine all the energy washing down the drain.”
- Avoid drinking too much: “When you’re drunk or overtired, you open yourself up to outside energy.”
“Energy hygiene is as important as physical hygiene,” she adds. “You wouldn’t sleep in a dirty bed—so why sleep in dirty energy?”
