Mandopop heavyweight Jam Hsiao has inked a major deal with Sony Music Entertainment.

The partnership represents a first for Sony Music, uniting its operations across Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan in a coordinated tri-market strategy to support a single artist. The collaboration aims to amplify Hsiao’s global reach under the umbrella of Sony’s Greater China and Mandarin Region division.

Hsiao, who debuted in 2007, has built a reputation as one of Mandopop’s most versatile performers, earning the moniker “King of Mandopop.” The Golden Melody Award winner is known for his powerful vocals across multiple genres including rock, ballads, and jazz. His chart-topping hits “A Love Song For You” and “Princess” have helped establish him as a major draw, with sold-out tours throughout Asia and beyond.

Under the new deal, Hsiao will immediately begin work on a new album while planning a major concert tour spanning Asia and international markets. Sony Music will leverage its global network to pursue cross-industry collaborations, extending the artist’s reach into new territories.

“This isn’t just a new chapter; it’s a new beginning,” Hsiao said. “Partnering with Sony Music is a chance to push my sound further and share the power of Mandopop with the world. I’m ready to create music that hits hard and connects with everyone.”

“Jam is a global force in Mandopop. His incredible energy and influence break through borders, and we are thrilled to welcome him to Sony Music,” said Andrew Chan, CEO of Sony Music Entertainment Greater China and Mandarin region, said, adding that the company would provide comprehensive support from production through global promotion.
