Beyond the Gates dropped a bomb on fans this week with the reveal that Hayley (Marquita Goings) has been conning Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) from the jump.
It was clear from the get-go that something wasn’t right with Hayley, especially after she faked a pregnancy and a miscarriage. However, viewers never expected Hayley to be a con artist and Bill to be her mark.
The bombshells came as Beyond the Gates revealed that Hayley and Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) are conning cousins. Oh yes, Joey’s (Jon Lindstrom) enforcer, Randy, was also in on the scam.
As Parade reported, Kerry spoke out after the revelation. Now, Goings has broken her silence on what’s going down with her alter ego on the CBS soap.
Taking to Instagram, Goings shared a hilarious clip of Hayley in con artist mode, then flipping a switch into a sweet, loving wife mode as Bill came home.
“Hayley Hayley… Been showing her true colors lately!😅🙈🙈 Our writers have truly shocked us all with these recent turn of events👏🏾👏🏾🤎 #beyondthegates #cbs #relationship #tvshow #drama,” she wrote as the caption.
It turns out even she was a bit shocked at Hayley’s real motivation. The show films a couple of months in advance, so the actress and her cast members have been keeping this news quiet.
Since the cat is out of the bag, some of Goings’ co-stars popped into her comments to respond to this hot topic.
“That damn sneaky, sneaky Haley 👀,” wrote Maurice Johnson (ex-Ted). Jasmine Burke (June) shared, “😂 Yes! Shifting gears real quick like.”
Beyond the Gates’ fans also popped into the comments to share their two cents on the big Hayley reveal.
“Totally shocked I tell you. The best kept secret. It does a lot for your character and makes your wink in the opening credits feel intentional,” declared a fan. One fan expressed, “I gotta file my Hayley stan card and hand you and the writers your 10’s, been a while since a soap had a plot twist this good 🔥 #killbill #beyondthegates.”
Another fan spilled, “I’m usually not down with the home wrecking gold digger BUT, Hayley is now my girl. Between her and Leslie. Just don’t get killed girl!” A different fan stated, ” Love this old school soap twist. I see Emmy reel material.”
Not everyone was shocked by Hayley being a con artist. “From day one, I knew she was just after Bill’s money. Glad we get to see it out in the open. The fixer will fix her,” insisted a fan, while another said, “I knew from the beginning not to trust you @marquitatenaya.”
One fan has some advice for the trouble-making character, writing, “Hayley better take money in the college fund and get on or else she will witness the REAL Bill, cause she will NOT Kill Bill. Lol.”
The latter remark refers to Hayley declaring to Randy that the only way to get his money is to kill Bill, which is hilarious on many levels. November sweeps are on the horizon, so Beyond the Gates fans should prepare for more twists regarding Bill and Hayley.
