‘DWTS’ Fans Say Judges Are Doing Celebs ‘Dirty’ as ‘Wicked’ Week Approaches

Dancing With the Stars fans took to Instagram to voice their frustrations with claims that judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli are underscoring contestants this season, ahead of Wicked Week.

In joint Instagram and Facebook posts promoting the new episode, viewers shared their opinions. As the show heads into episode six, Wicked Week promises a night of unforgettable performances for the remaining 10 celebrity competitors.

Thus far, no celebrity has received a perfect score this season, despite some standout performances. Inaba, Hough, and Tonioli have handed out scores of sevens and eights, but only a few performers have received nines.

It wasn’t until Week 4’s Disney Night that Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas received a score of nine. During Week 5’s Dedication Night, Leavitt and Ballas also received nines, along with Robert Irwin and Witney Carson, Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach, and Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy.

This has led some social media users to claim the judges aren’t scoring fairly. Here’s what they had to say on Instagram.

“My only wish is that Jen [Affleck] and Elaine [Hendrix] finally get the scores that they deserve!! Can’t have the judges doing them dirty again,” wrote one follower.

A second person penned, “Get those judges’ scores up this week; some people have been so underscored.” A third viewer claimed, “This is the lowest scoring season ever.”

Then, the pros perform a medley to “No One Mourns the Wicked / Defying Gravity / For Good / Thank Goodness / Dancing Through Life / What Is This Feeling?” from both Wicked and Wicked: For Good. Finally, the celebrities and their pros dance Argentine Tango, Contemporary, Foxtrot, Jazz, Rumba and Quickstep to the film’s soundtrack.

Wicked: For Good arrives in theaters Nov. 21. Dancing With the Stars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, airing the next day on Hulu.
