James Marsden Looks Dapper in Classic Suiting at the 2025 Emmys

James Marsden is back at the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

The actor, 51, made his second-ever trip to the event — which took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sept. 14 — in a dashing suit.

Marsden wore Ralph Lauren Purple Label for the evening. The actor’s look for the night consisted of a cream colored blazer, which the actor paired with a white button-down shirt and black bow-tie, black trousers and matching leather shoes. He accessorized with an IWC Schaffhausen watch and cufflinks and a brooch by David Yurman, plus Santoni boots.

The Enchanted actor was nominated at the Emmy Awards this year in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category for his role in Paradise. Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman and John Turturro of Severance (Apple TV+), as well as Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs and Sam Rockwell of The White Lotus (Hulu), were also nominated in the category; Tillman took home the award.

Marsden went classic at the 75th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, pairing a Canali suit with a white button-down shirt and patent-leather boots, and styled his hair off his face.

Although fans of his many projects may love his luscious locks, Marsden himself doesn’t exactly feel the same way. He previously told PEOPLE in 2023 that if he were not an actor, he’d get rid of his hair completely.

“To me, if I wasn’t an actor I would just have one of those military cuts,” he revealed. “I’d just shave it off all the time. It just gets in the way.”

He said he doesn’t “really do much” when it comes to his haircare routine, and that he used to not take care of himself at all.

“I get it cut occasionally by my guy in L.A., and he usually is the one that fixes it.” he said of his hair maintenance routine. “If I don’t have him around, then I put a baseball cap on because I don’t want to fix it. I’m still very much a guy that way.”

When he attended the event in January 2024, Marsden gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at his awards show prep. “You can dress me up and try to make me classy, but then I open my mouth,” he joked in the video.

The actor completed the video by accessorizing his outfit with a eye-catching watch before heading out for the night. The Disenchanted star told PEOPLE in 2023 that he was a “nerd” when it comes to watches.

“I just have to immerse myself in all of it,” he said of his hobbies, one of which is watch collecting. “I have to master it, not to prove anything; I just can’t get enough information about it.”
