'Star Trek’ Favorite Shares Heartfelt Tribute to Wife During Final Days on Set

Anson Mountis currently filming the fifth and final season of the hit Paramount+ series, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The actor, who plays Captain Christopher Pike, took the time to thank his wife of seven years, Darah Trang, for remaining at the helm of their household while he is away shooting.

The September 30 Instagram upload showed Mount lying on a hotel bed. In the caption of the post, he explained that he is “commuting for the rest of the year to shoot Season 5” while Trang is with their children, Clover, 3, and Violet, 3 months. He said while he was “a bit tired,” his level of exhaustion is “nothing compared to [his] amazing wife who’s managing both kids and settling a new house in [his] absence.”

“I’m still happy I chose to be an actor but there are realities that come with any career choice. And travel is definitely the big reality of this business. I’m just lucky to have a family that supports me and bosses who try to help me make it all fit,” continued Mount in the caption.

Anson Mount Shared How He’s Been Changed After Having Children

Mount, who has been playing Captain Pike since Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery, which premiered in 2019, opened up about how becoming a father has changed him in a July 2025 interview on Michael Rosenbaum‘s podcast,Inside of You. He said that he didn’t realize that he’d be willing to “move mountains” and be “stronger” for his children.

“It makes you want to do the best possible thing all the time,” said the 52-year-old on the podcast.
